DFSS stands for Design For Six Sigma. DFSS is a systematical methodology to design products, services and processes that:
- Meets customer requirements (CTQ´s) at 6 sigma level
- Uses statistical techniques
- Predicts and improves quality and performance (already before prototyping)
- Verifies design with pilot runs, pre-production runs en production runs


The Methodology
There are two methods of DFSS which are much alike.

• DMADOV; Define-Measure-Analyze-Design-Optimize-Verify.
This methodology is more suitable for designs which are based on existing products and services. 

• IDOV; Identify-Design-Optimize-Verify.
This methodology is more suitable for entire new designs (from a white sheet).
